Yakult-i-fied!

We had a HRS Unit outing to the Yakult factory organised by our HRS Welfare Committee. It was a learning journey for all of us. No doubt all of us have consumed Yakult for like almost throughout our entire lives but do we know the benefits of drinking Yakult?

Before the outing, I don't know. The only thing I know was it can prevent Cancer, Colon Cancer especially. After the outing, I realised Yakult is also beneficial for our immune system, fight against the bad bacteria and hence, suppressed them so we recover faster from infections or prevent us from having infections post operation/surgery. We were told that if you are undergoing any surgeries, it's best you drink Yakult 3 times a day, 2 weeks prior to the operation so the 'good bacterias' inside Yakult can fight against the 'bad ones' and decrease your chances of infections.. and simultaneously, reduce your hospital stay.. True? Maybe, maybe not.. However, I choose to believe that Prevention is better than Cure.. and like any old wives' tales, I will heed this advise whenever I or any other family members, need to undergo a surgery.. :)

Errrm.. medical question: Can we get infections for giving birth albeit naturally or caesaerian? Hm...

So, we were given a complimentary Yakult drink before their presentation and who doesn't gobbled up the FREE drink almost instantaneously, right? I finished mine within seconds and so did the rest.. and around 20mins after that, some of us regretted (i guess) but fortunately, no one puked.. Why? Picture below..

(sorry, it's not that clear.. the best that I can come up with)

I was like..??? WTH?? The 'good bacterias' looked like little tadpoles swimming in the water, almost similar like.. you know.. alah, you sure know what I meant lah eh.. and withing seconds, they multipled.. goshhhh!!!! and I had all that in my stomach.. hahaha.. but think positively and think of what these good bacterias do for your health, ok? hee hee.. Do you also know that Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan (not sure about Malaysia, though) are the only countries that have straws packed together and the rest of the countries, produced them 'strawless'.. Interesting, huh?? Having tried to drink Yakult strawless, I think it tasted better, from the tip of the tongue and then to the throat :) Lovely! Another interesting fact, only Singapore has Yakult in 5 flavours =) talk about kiasu-ism.. lolx

I'd love to take pictures of the plant, from the moulding of the Yakult bottles, filling those bottles up, sealed and packed but no photo-taking are allowed there.. :(
Only these pictures of us camwhoring with the HUGE YAKULT outside the building facade.. :P
