~InterContinental Hotel Retreat~

We checked in at around 3pm++ and were allocated a room on the 15th floor of the hotel. The highest floor is 16th so we thought 15th was okay lah... at the check in counter the front desk was very helpful and although we felt a bit 'paiseh' bcos.. wat the heck is a Singaporean doing in an established hotel, right? ( I think most people wud be thinking this way).. but the front desk staff was a pro.. treating us how they should treat a tourist.. needless to say we felt comfortable abt it and Hub asked for a late check out which they readily said.. "No problem, sir".. Geez.. how easy Hub makes it sound.. :-)

Overall, the stay was very pleasant.. Hub said its categorized under First Class hotel under the SIA listing.. and because of the stay, I got to become the priority club members where i can earn points if i stay at any Intercontinental or Holiday Inn hotels.. the points earned can be transferred as air miles with the participating airlines, SQ included.. wow wow wow!! So many many nights in hotels to look forward to.. hee hee..

Overall rating: 8/10.. (Hub gave 10/10, but I think i'm hard to please..)

As this retreat was pre-planned much earlier, we gave my bro-inlaw's 19th birthday dinner a miss..(dinner plan made was like a day before the retreat.. soo oops! sorrie).. I guessed we enjoyed the ambience too much to actually step out of it to go for a dinner and since Hub promised its a day spent for only the 3 of us... He gotta keep to that promise.. well, its not always that we get to spend time with one another... birthdays come every year.. u cant celebrate it this year?? there's still next year and so on and so forth..

So people.......... INTERCONTINENTAL SINGAPORE is a THUMBS UP..! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
